  1. Sorry to hear that. Planning to drive to Florida next January and looking for a place to stay overnight near the border, Port Huron or Detroit is fine. No RV park opened in this area so we were thinking of Walmart but your report scares us. We are new Airstreamers. Any idea?

  2. I live in Grand Blanc, MI. I did a lot of reserch on the NOP in Grand Blanc. It seems the reason is that when it was built, the planning commision required the builder to not allow ONP. There is no law against parking at Walmart. The Township official I contacted said that as long as the owner of the property does not have any signs say “No overnight parking” the police cannot issue a citation. So, you could probably get by parking here but do so at your risk. Terry

  3. Marquette Walmart- Spent 3 nights there, socked in by fog. Lots of RV’s there at the time. No problems. Best thing to do for any Walmart is to call the store prior to arrival and they will tell you if you can or cannot park in their lot and if you can where to park.

  4. Petoskey Michigan has no overnight parking but the Ottawa casino right behind encourages it. About 20 spaces first come first serve. Register at casino. Regularly patrolled by casino security.
