Campgrounds were only $8-10.00 per night, and now they are $18-22.00 per night. The rising cost of gas this year has been difficult too. We have found it to be extremely helpful because of the detailed directions given to find any given WalMart. We especially appreciate the exit numbers of the freeways, particularly in larger cities. We only had one episode where we couldn't find the WalMart by following the directions as given, and that was in Phoenix, Arizona. We finally turned around and went back to the interstate and found another Walmart. We have used and liked our locator so much that I tried to order an updated version about a month ago only to find that the phone number and e-mail address were no longer available so I was delighted to receive your card with the 2004 updated version offered. In fact, not only did I order one for us but also ordered one to give as a gift. My husband has also told many of our friends how helpful the locator has been for us. Victor Y. RVer "I do not like to drive at night. Between destinations I plan according to the Wal-Mart Locator maps, making sure I get to one and park before dark. The Wal-Mart Locator does help me. In Sarasota there was a 'no parking overnight' sign. I had stayed there before and thought this odd. I asked the manager if we could stay. The manager said to me that all the Wal-Marts will have signs like this, but they are there for safety since 9-11. He said I could park in the lot, but way over at the edge - no parking close to the building. If the "no parking overnight" sign has on it 'local ordinance' then that is different, and it would be a city code violation if I stayed. I am looking forward to the 2004 edition."

We have in the past utilized the Rand McNally Wal-mart locator in the "yearly" updated McNally which we procured for $5.00 through Wal-mart. This does not include the precise directions needed to find the Wal-marts. In driving a 38 ft rig with a tow vehicle it is not always easy to make a U turn if one makes a mistake reading the Rand McNally directions and exiting the free-ways turning in the wrong direction. After reviewing your web page we feel that your manual will lean more to meeting our needs. As an RV enthusiast we want to continue to utilize those RV friendly Wal-marts, therefore we are looking forward to receiving your Wal-mart locator."
Loyd & Bea M. RVers " We spoke by phone Mon. March 15, when we reordered the 2004 Wal-mart locator. We use the locator every trip and find it very useful and time saving to arrive at the Wal-mart store with ease by following the directions listed in the locator booklet. Upon arriving at the store , we always go to the customer service desk and tell the attending clerk "We have a motor home and would he/she ask the manager if we could park in their lot over night? Most of the time the clerk is aware of the stores rule and will tell us that it is not a problem and point out the area of the parking lot that they prefer you to park. On occasion the clerk will call the store manager and he will give his approval. Recently a store manger pointed out that an rv dumped his holding tanks in the Wal-mart parking lot, was caught on security cameras and the fine imposed by the states environmental agency, in all cases, is $25,000 per violation. Remember you are on Wal-marts surveillance cameras at all times which are recorded on tape. Jan, it is a shame a few uncaring people will ruin the willing hospitality of the Wal-mart Corp. There are occasions where local ordinances do not allow over night parking. One such location we found is the Mechanicsville, VA. (Richmond, VA. area) store. It proved to be very thoughtful to ask at the stores customer service desk as they told us that they do not prohibit overnight parking however, the County ordinance does not allow it and they will ticket you $500.00 around 3 AM and make you move out at that time. This would put me in a very ugly frame of mind! We have shown and recommended your Wal-mart locator many times since our last purchase and will continue to do so with your latest update. Keep up the good work.

Even if the store has moved since the Locator was printed, the chances are very good the space is taken with a Sam's Club. Recently we were in Sarasota, FL, and we were unable to rent a camp site that would accomadate our unit. While Sarasota has an ordenance prohibiting overnight parking, we were able to find a Sam's Club out-side the city, but nearby, and we were able to have a great visit. Tom K. RVer "I find the Wal-Mart Locator a very essential book in my travels. I have a big rig and travel about 30,000 miles a year. Despite using the campground directories, even though they say big rigs welcome, that doesn't necessarily mean you can get a 45ft. rig in. Tight corners, low trees, etc. If I am not comfortable with the campground, I start looking for a Wal-Mart. I use the super, and always call ahead to make sure that it is OK and they don't have gates across entrances to keep out semis. I don't use it as a campground and stay longer than a night. If we need supplies, we always go to Wal-Mart. We always make sure the site is clean when we depart. THIS IS A GREAT BOOK!"

I have been using my 2001 , and I am really looking forward to getting my new one. This is the most handy travel guide I have ever had. I am not cheap, and looking for free parking, as I usually spend between $40 and $50 each time I park over night in a Wal-Mart, or Sam's club. I feel safer in the Wal-Marts than I do in rest stops, and I don't have to listen to the trucks all night.
